Ok, pushing ahead. We moved to Davis CA as my dad got a job there as a teacher. We stayed there for 2 years then moved to Pomona because my dad got a job as a wood shop teacher. I lived on St. James Place in a small house.
I remember sitting on the side porch step in the summer, eating watermelon and spitting seeds at flies on the fence.
When I turned 7 we moved to Newark, Delaware. Yes, Delaware! The First State. My dad got a job at Christiana High School as a guidance counselor. During summers he worked at DuPont in Wilmington. Seems at that time DuPont took care of the state like casinos do now in Nevada. I remember hot humid summers where I rode my bicycle and found a underground spring water tap. Man talk about cold delicious water!
I also went to Walmart where I would buy models to build and paint and glue. At the time I liked plastic battleships and movie monster figures. I had Superman, Mummy, Batman, Frankenstein as well as the two stars from The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Napoleon Solo and Ilya Kuriyakin!
Oh, my mom. When she married my dad she was a housewife for the 25 years they were married.
More later ... and to hold you over here's a pic of my dog Osito. He's a Jack Russel Chihuahua mix!
